Choral Society presents Dvorak Stabat Mater

This 75th Anniversary Celebration concert features the 125-voice Victoria Choral Society with Director Giuseppe Pietraroia, 40 members of Victoria Symphony, soprano Ingrid Attrot, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Hass, tenor Benjamin Butterfield and bass Chad Louwerse. Composer Anton Dvorak began this work after the loss of one of his children, and completed it while grieving the loss of his two other young children within a short time of each other. This work is a deeply moving tribute to the strength of the human spirit that takes audience and performers alike on a journey from profound grief through to a glorious affirmation of . Partial proceeds from this concert will be donated to Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children to help build Jeneece Place. http://jeneeceplace.org
